Clammy Chowder

  • 4 cups Shamrock Farms mmmmilk
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 cups chopped potatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 2 - 6 1/2-ounce cans chopped clams
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup flour
Cooking instructions
  1. Drain juice from clams and pour over vegetables in small sauce pan. Add enough water to barely cover. Simmer, covered, until vegetables are barely tender. In the mean time, melt butter in larger pan. Add flour and blend together with a whisk. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Slowly add Shamrock Farms mmmmilk while blending. Add the undrained vegetable/clam mix. Add vinegar and spices. Heat through and serve immediately.
  2. Please note: For best results use whole milk or reduced fat milk.
