Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Shamrock Farms Sour Cream
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 medium egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream shortening and sugar together in a large bowl. Add yolks, sour cream, almonds and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Sift together dry ingredients. Gradually add to sour cream mixture and mix until well combined. Cover and chill for 10 minutes. Roll out and cut with cookie cutters.
  4. Bake 8-10 minutes.
