Caramelized Onion Dip

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Shamrock Farms Sour Cream
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 large yellow onion sliced thinly and chopped in half
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
- 4 oz. pkg softened cream cheese
- 1/2 cup mayo
Directions
In a frying pan (big) heat butter and oil. Add onion and all the spices. sauté until golden brown, stir every so often. Set aside and allow to cool. In a bowl- mix cream cheese, mayo and Shamrock Farms sour cream until smooth. Mix together with onion mix. Serve with ripple thick potato chips, crackers, sliced French bread, or use on top of a chicken or hamburger.
Quick Cooking Tip:
I usually make it the morning of the party and leave it in the fridge to let the flavors really sit together. Take it out 15 minutes before guests arrive.
