“Joy To The Herd” Farm Tour Event to Benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital
Shamrock Farms helps families get into the holiday spirit with carolers and cows, Santa and snow
PHOENIX (Nov. 20, 2009)—Shamrock Farms is making the holidays a little brighter with its 3rd Annual Joy to the Herd Farm Tour event, which transforms its working dairy farm and tour into a winter wonderland and benefits Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Families will not only enjoy Shamrock Farms’ one-of-a-kind holiday festival, but also feel good knowing that $1 of every ticket sold will benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Additionally, Shamrock Farms’ Farm Gift Shop will be selling a limited-edition holiday mug with all proceeds going to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The mug features holiday cows created by Phoenix Children’s Hospital patient Darren K., age 15.
“At Shamrock Farms, we have a long tradition of giving back to the community. It’s an important part of who we are and we are happy to be partnering with Phoenix Children’s Hospital on our popular Joy to the Herd event. It’s a great opportunity for quality time with your family and helps others at the same time,” said Sandy Kelly, director of marketing for Shamrock Farms.
The Phoenix Children’s Hospital mugs will be on sale for $6 each or $18 for a set of four at Joy to the Herd and the entire month of December (while supplies last) at Shamrock Farms’ Farm. In all, Shamrock Farms hopes to donate more than $2,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital through its Joy to the Herd partnership.
Joy to the Herd’s holiday cheer starts with festive décor added to Shamrock Farms Welcome Barn and tram, and continues throughout the fun and educational guided Farm Tour through the home of more than 10,000 traditional and organic cows, a milking barn that accommodates 1,600 cows (milking 200 at a time), an interactive play zone and much more.
Special added event features include 15 tons of snow, holiday crafts, face painting and roaming carolers. Of course, no holiday celebration would be complete without a special visit with Santa and Shamrock Farms own jolly spokescow – Roxie!
As an extra holiday treat, everyone who brings a Shamrock Farms 32-oz eggnog label to Joy to the Herd will receive a FREE Shamrock Farms holiday ornament.
Reservations are required and space is limited. Tickets are $10 per person and include all activities. Children under age 2 are free. Lunch will be available for an additional cost. Call 602-477-2462 to reserve your space today!
